EXPERIENCE

Shelby is being sold on behalf of a client.

Before he came to us, he was being competed by a teenager who had just come off ponies. He introduced his rider to horse classes and competed up to Foxhunter level at Hickstead. His young rider has now grown to well over 6 foot so is now sadly too tall for him, hence the reason he is for sale.

He has been with the same family since he started his showjumping career and his official winnings mean he is still eligible for Discovery and Newcomer classes (approx. 1m and 1.10m respectively). However, he has easily jumped round 1.20m courses and regularly jumps 1.30m courses at home.

He is snaffle mouthed but is a bouncy, forward going ride without being strong and without needing too much leg. He is very nimble but also well schooled and has his changes well established. He would be perfect to introduce another rider through the transition from ponies to horses but still has great potential to do Young Rider classes and more. He would also suit a small, competitive adult who wants to have some fun and progress to some bigger classes.

He has been competing with us recently after a rest (due to his riders exam commitments) and has been regularly placed.

This horse is very easy to ride, totally uncomplicated and really fun to compete.

Shelby is a lovely horse to have on the yard and to handle in every respect.

He is laid back in his stable and loves attention.

He has been excellent to do in every way and is a very lovable horse.

A sweet family pet who will enjoy being loved!
